I feel like it’s been a while since we’ve seen Ryan Gosling in a big movie, but we are glad to see he is back in Blue Valentine, which opened Wednesday in theaters. Also staring Michelle Williams, this love story tells of a man and woman who were once in love but are now falling out of love. Mom is the serious one who works at a hospital with the hopes of becoming a doctor. Dad is the fun one, a man of many talents, who has a tough time committing to anything, besides his family. The movie seems to have a sense of familiarity that anyone could relate too, and almost looks really heartbreaking. This may be a good one to go see with your girls.

We’ve watched her journey from high school into a young successful woman, and no matter what drama this Laguna Beach star faces, her style is always classic and chic. We love how L.C. keeps it casual on the red carpet in a tunic and leggings, and you can steal her look with pieces from Dots! So you’ve already picked out the dress, the shoes, you have your whole night planned, all that’s missing to top off your New Year’s Eve look is makeup. As a diva, you know it’s all about looking good from head to toe and New Year’s Eve only comes once a year, so obviously we have to be dressed up to the nines. And, with the hopes of being kissed when the clock strikes twelve, it’s also the one time of year that taking an extra minute or two on your makeup is definitely called for.
So to help you get the perfect look, here are some of our favorite makeup looks that will complete your nighttime look.
Go all out with bright make up. Rihanna’s lips are a five-alarmer! Love how she dresses up a simple black dress with a fire-engine red pout and electric blue liner. Be bold—go bright!
You can never go wrong with a smoky eye. Balance dark, smoky eyes with pale pink lipstick and glowy cheeks. To get that shimmery, ethereal look, apply a highlighter to your cheekbones. This is a look that’ll go with both your kick butt leather jacket and a pretty party dress.
Ruby red lips are a staple for a glamorous night on the town, but we’re adding raspberry lipstick—like Alexis Bledel’s—to our must-have nighttime makeup list.

Here it is again, it seems like I blinked and 2010 is coming to an end. It’s the one night of the year it’s perfectly acceptable to kiss everybody in sight at midnight and drink your body weight in champagne. It’s also the one night of the year when you can dress as fancy and over the top as you like! It’s time for you to shine and layer on the sequins. New Year’s Eve – the perfect opportunity to buy something shiny and new.

Out on DVD tonight is the latest George Clooney crime drama, The American, about an American assassin trying to get out of the game. After a job goes wrong in Sweden he vows his next is his last, however, it’s never that easy, right? The movie takes place in Italy and although it is full of drama there is also a bit of romance. I mean it’s a Clooney film, should we expect anything else?!
Another drama/crime movie out today is Twelve, based on the controversial Nick McDonell novel that follows high school dropout turned successful drug dealer, White Mike in New York’s Upper East Side. He leads a double life selling drugs to all of the kids are home from boarding school and everyone has money to blow. We don’t want to give the movie away, but I’m sure you get the gist. The film stars Chace Crawford, Emma Robers, Kiefer Sutherland, and 50 Cent, or Curtis Jackson as he is known as in the film industry. Looks like a good week for movies to rent with your guy!
