Diva of the Week: Rosario Dawson

Earlier this week, Rosario Dawson attended the premiere of her new movie Unstoppable in a beautiful blue assymmetrical satin gown.

First, we love, love the color. It’s an interesting take on jewel tones. Second, the satin material fits perfectly into the shine trend for Fall. Third, Rosario owns the dress and her makeup looks so fresh and modern! Clearly, she had to be our Diva of the Week!

The greatest part about this look is that you can have it too. Head into any Dots store to pick up this gorgeous Charcoal One Shoulder Flower Pleated Dress for $24. It’s perfect for all the holiday parties you’ll have to attend. It would also work quite nicely at a New Year’s party!  Get a dress now so you don’t spend precious time trying to find a dress last minute! We have a great dress for you so don’t forget to check out all our party dresses.

Halloween Makeup Ideas

Halloween is a great time to get a little crazy with your makeup! It doesn’t have to be flawless or even beautiful as long as it goes with the costume. Of course, the easiest way to start your Halloween makeup is by going dark with your nailpolish. Black is the easiest choice, but you may also want to go with a dark green or gray depending on your costume.

Next, hair can play a big part in the costume. It could be big, poufy and sort of crazy if you’re a dressing up as a witch. Or you can opt for a wig in order to really achieve the perfect look for your costume. Many of the Fall makeup trends can actually help with your Halloween costume. For instance, a dark plum lip, seriously dramatic lashes and shine.  Never underestimate the powers of a metallic eyeshadow, especially if you are going as a princess or Hollywood celebrity!

If you’re going for a major makeup look, try face paint or temporary tattoos. Halloween is just one night so make sure all the products you use are removable and unharmful. Also, go easy on the body glitter because it takes forever to wash off!
