Will Farrell plays Nick in this heartfelt yet comedic flick about a guy that just went through a terrible divorce which has left him homeless, moneyless and hopeless, one of the harsh realities of many who go through a painful divorce. So in a plan to make some fast cash, he holds a garage sale in his front yard (while living in it), selling everything he owns. He ends up finding an unlikely friendship with his neighbor who before this happened, never really gave him the time of day. I know I know sounds kind of depressing right? Well, this movie is anything but. Ferrell makes what normally would be a sad situation into a comedic one.

Hall Pass, is a flick about a couple of married guys that feel like their wives hold them back from having fun, how many times have we heard that line! This time it’s different, and the wives take action. No more complaining from their hubbys, they’ve had enough, and decide to give them what they call a hall pass. Basically they allow their husbands to have an affair or do whatever they want for one week with no repercussions.  Sounds like every mans dream come true, right? They soon realize that it’s not as easy as they thought it would be. Overall it’s a great comedic flick starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudiekis and there on screen wives Christina Applegate and Jenna Fischer, all fantastic comedians so it’s sure to be a hit.  Check out Christina Applegate in a casual look that she accessorizes with an adorable charm necklace.

DVD Night: Little Fockers, Tron

In need of a good laugh? Well make it a DVD night with Little Fockers, starring Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller. I’m sure most of you have seen the previous two, Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers, and although I didn’t find the new one to be as good as the others, it’s still full of laughs. As with all Focker movies, it’s full of awkward moments and outrageous antics. It has taken 10 years, two little Fockers with wife Pam and countless hurdles for Greg to finally get “in” with his tightly wound father-in-law, Jack, who wants to appoint a successor as Family-patriarch. Does his son-in-law, the “male nurse”, have what it takes? This is definitely one to add to your Netflix queue.

If you’re looking for a little adventure, maybe try Tron: Legacy, which is also out today. The remake of the 1982 flick stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde. The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father’s creation turned bad and a unique ally who was born inside the digital domain of The Grid. Ok so, it’s a little sci-fi for my taste, but it’s definitely one your guy might dig!

Christina Aguilera shows off her skills in Burlesque, which is out on DVD today. The singer plays Ali, the prototypical small-town girl with starry eyes who buses herself all the way from Iowa to the Hollywood sign to fulfill her dreams of stardom. She starts waiting tables at a “neo-burlesque” club, run by the world-weary Tess played by Cher. Ali tries to convince the lounge’s owner that she has what it takes to be a part of the club’s act, but Tess and her surly counterpart, Sean, don’t think she has the chops. That is, until she gets on stage and belts out a song like — well, Christina Aguilera.

Another good flick to go see is Love & Other Drugs, starring Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal.  Maggie is an alluring free spirit who won’t let anyone – or anything – tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie, whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie’s evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.

Snowy days call for the perfect DVD night! Out today is Due Date staring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis, I didn’t get a chance to see this one in theatres so I’m really excited to rent this one. Peter Highman (Downey Jr.) must get to LA in five days to be at the birth of his firstborn. He is about to fly home from Atlanta when his luggage and wallet are sent to LA without him, and he is put on the “no-fly” list. Desperate to get home Peter is forced to accept the offer of Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) to hitch a ride with him cross-country. Everything that could possibly ever go wrong, does, but in the most hysterical way possible!  This is one I definitely can’t wait to see!

This DVD night is all about getting scared, so you may not want to do this one alone! Out today is Paranormal Activity 2, I won’t spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it, but this is one scary movie you have to watch. Especially if you saw the first one, this is twice as disturbing. After experiencing what they think are a series of “break-ins”, a family sets up security cameras around their home, only to realize that the events unfolding before them are more sinister than they seem.

Also out is, My Soul to Take, the latest from Wes Craven which means its gauranteed to scare. In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? One person has the answer and you’ll have to watch to find out!

This DVD night is all about the drama. Never Let Me Go staring Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield hit shelves today. The film centers on Kathy, Ruth and Tommy, played respectively by Mulligan, Knightley and Garfield, who become entangled in a love triangle and are scientific specimens, created in a laboratory and raised in order to provide their organs to severely ill patients. It’s a romantic drama that is perfect to cuddle up to on a snowy night!

Also out is, Let Me In, a drama that tells the storey of a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a vampire child in a New Mexico town in the early 1980s. If you are into the whole vampire movie trend that seems to be taking over, you may really enjoy this movie. It combines drama, romance and horror and is said to set the standard for vampire movies to come. What will you be watching for your DVD Night?
