This holiday season we are debunking the most talked about fashion faux paws. After all isn’t fashion about taking risks and standing out? We think so!
Holiday Style Myth Number 1: White is cheesy.
Fact: White is classy, especially when it’s a LWD.
Holiday Style Myth Number 2: DON’T mix more than one holiday trend together.
Fact: DO mix more than one holiday trend, our fav is sequins and fur.
Holiday Style Myth Number 3: Over accessorize.
Fact: Keep it simple. Have one key statement piece like Amy Adams wearing a bold and colorful necklace. By having no other accessories she really allows her necklace to shine.

Jennifer Hudson never ceases to amaze! Not only does she have an incredible voice and new album, I Remember Me, which dropped this week, she looks more fabulous every time we see a photo of her. We love this look that she released her latest album in, the sleek sequin Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress paired with patent leather heels shows off her new figure that she’s worked so hard to get. Jennifer may have a slim new figure, but she still has curves and knows how to show them off with the perfect outfits.
What do our divas think of her new and improved look?

This week we love the star style of Katarina Graham. She is known for her outrageous red carpet styles, but we really love how she shows that active wear is not just for the gym! She makes sporty look sexy with a little bit of sweet. She sports a pair of gray active pants with a corseted black top and a pretty pink pout to add a little femininity to the look. If you are digging her style you can get this look at Dots, with our tie-ankle harem pants, a satin trim cami, leather cuff and some hoop earrings. Get this and more celebrity style in What’s Hot Now.

Bring out your inner girly girl! Feminine touches are everywhere this season, from wear-to-work, club looks and casual tops. Ruffles are the #1 feminine detail that you will see a lot of in stores in the upcoming months, they are versitile and add just the right touch of soft feminine style. Just a few of these little details and trims can go a long way! We love this satin ruffle top jacket, it’s perfect for work, or you can pair with jeans for a cute date night look. Check our our Early Spring Look Book for more ways to wear.

Animal prints continue to be a bold and sexy trend going into spring. New variations to the look include zebra and snakeskin prints, bold colors and animal prints mixed with florals and paisley patterns. Animal print tops and tunics go great with leggings or shorts for spring. Dress it up with a few accessories and you have a look that is going to turn heads day or night.
Check out more of our favorite Animal Print pieces from Dots in our Early Spring Lookbook.
What is your animal story? How do you wear your favorite animal prints?

Black has always been said to be the most flattering color, but apparently not necessarily. Color experts argue that only one in five people have the cool, pale skin tone that looks good with black. People with warmer skin tones look washed out in black, as the color takes away all the golden tones from their skin. So if you are someone who resorts to black as your favorite neutral (Guilty!) maybe it’s time to mix it up a little bit. Grays are a great color for winter as well as creams and camels. Try it out to see if you notice a difference.
